WHAT IS A DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a filter in diesel cars that catches and stores exhaust soot to reduce emissions. Because DPFs do not have an infinite capacity for storing soot, they must be emptied or “burned off” on a regular basis in order to regenerate the DPF.
